Fall 2013 War Games

Over the weekend of November 8-10, students in the IT Network Security Fundamentals course competed against each other in virtual “War Games.” a key component of the course.  The War Games weekend is a key component of the course, and the P1010261goal is for student teams to secure their assigned networks and systems while attacking other teams.  The course instructor, Dr. Shropshire, makes every effort to make the cyber warfare training scenario as realistic as possible.  The lab incorporates the latest enterprise-grade software and hardware.  Student teams work 48 hours straight until the lab is over.  IT program graduates frequently remark that War Games was very helpful in preparing them to deal with real attacks.
