CEIT Golf Tournament a success

Eighty players enjoyed the first annual CEIT Golf Tournament on April 16, 2014.  The day was windy, but sunny, and players loved the newly revamped course. Students from the CEIT’s student groups AITP and Eagle Motorsports provided burgers and hot dogs for lunch and delicious barbecue for the awards banquet.

Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place were awarded in two flights.  3rd place, 2nd flight:  Butler, Jaremski, McDowell and Storer of Club Car.  2nd place, 2nd flight:  Sells, Drake, Debevec and Woodard of Gulfstream.  1st place, 2nd flight:  Pollack (PollWood), Segal (Schweitzer Engineering Labs), Boring and Parrish (Brodie).  3rd place, 1st flight: Troutman, Halliburton, Minick and Morris (New South Construction).  2nd place, 1st flight: Coppage (AECOM), Cawley (Aerotek), Anderson (ABC of Georgia) and Glasser (AMEC).  Longest drive: Carter Hollis (MSAE student).  Straightest drive:  Phil Best (Garbutt Construction).  Closest to the pin: #4, Denise McCoy (O’Brien Gere); #7, Brent Hardy (Briggs & Stratton); #12, Norm Glasser (AMEC); and #16, Randy Johnson (CH2M HILL).  Congratulations to all!

Tentative date for next year’s tournament:  Friday, April 24, 2015.
