Dr. Mitra Accepts PLTW Award for Georgia

Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is a national nonprofit organization promoting K-12 STEM education through teaching training and course module development.  Currently, about 8,500 schools across the nation representing all 50 states have adopted programs to introduce about students (1M this year alone) to concepts of engineering and other STEM fields.  PLTW also has partnerships with 61 institutions of higher ed across the nation — Georgia’s affiliate is Georgia Southern, for which Dr. Aniruddha Mitra serves as director.  These affiliate schools provide training for the teachers who implement the course materials and modules in their K-12 schools.

During the 2016 PLTW Summit Meeting held in Indianapolis, PLTW recognized Georgia Southern for its ten years of successful partnership and support of PLTW.  Dr. Aniruddha Mitra accepted the award trophy from PLTW CEO and President, Dr. Vince Bertram.
