Civil Engineering Scholarships

Robert B. Baker Scholarship

Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis each year to outstanding traditional students who are athletes majoring in Civil Engineering Technology. Recipients must be enrolled full-time and must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Financial need, extracurricular activities, school and community involvement and prior work experience will be considered when making the selection. Awards will be made without regard to race, religion, gender or area of residency. Should no student athlete majoring in Civil Engineering Technology qualify for the scholarship in a given year, it may be offered to a student athlete majoring in any Engineering Technology program. Should not student athletes be available, the scholarship will then be given to students who meet the original criteria.

2013-2014 Award: $2,150


Hussey, Gay, Bell and DeYoung, Inc. Civil Engineering Technology Scholarship

Award is available to junior or senior level students majoring in Civil Engineering Technology. Students must be residents of South Georgia or South Carolina. The scholarship committee may invite a representative of Hussey, Gay, Bell and DeYoung to sit on the selection committee.

2013-2014 Award: $500


Stuber-EMC Scholarship Civil Engineering Technology Scholarship

Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis each year to a deserving student or students majoring in Civil Engineering Technology. Each applicant must be at the junior or senior level during the award period. Each applicant must have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA and be a full-time student at the time of application and must maintain the GPA or better and maintain full-time status during the award period. Each applicant must be of high moral character and must be considered a leader among his or her peers. Scholarships will be awarded without regard to age, gender, race, marital status, area of residency or religious preference. Should all other factors prove equal, financial need will be the deciding factor.

2013-2014 Award: $650


Grinnell Technology Scholarship

Award available to full-time sophomore, junior, or senior students majoring in civil, electrical, mechanical engineering or Manufacturing/Industrial Management with a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

2011-2012 Award: $700

Ernest Audrey Hartsell Scholarship

The scholarship is open to students majoring in any field of engineering at any class level. Please note the following correction regarding the application for this scholarship. On the first page of the application, it is stated that one of the references must be in the ME Department. It should be noted that this is not a valid requirement. Any faculty member is CE, EE, or ME department can serve as references for this application.

Allen E. Paulson Engineering Scholarship

The purpose of the Allen E. Paulson Engineering Scholarship is to provide recognition and assistance to outstanding engineering students. The scholarship will be open to students majoring in degree granting programs in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering at Georgia Southern at any class level. Please note the following correction regarding the application for this scholarship. On the first page of the application, it is stated that one of the references must be in the EE Department. It should be noted that this is not a valid requirement. Any faculty member is CE, EE, or ME department can serve as references for this application.

2011-2012 Award: $1,000 – $1,500
