Position: Co-op for IT department starting Spring 2017.

Requirements: Need to be at least a rising sophomore (by hours 30 +) and will work at least 3 alternating terms.

Paid: Competitive

Location: Centennial Research Building on Georgia Techs main campus in Midtown Atlanta.

Other: Must be a US citizen and be able to commute to work everyday.

Job Description: Co-ops will start out running the IT helpdesk. This will involve many aspects of IT including Domain, LDAP, Network, Printer management and much more. Co-ops will start to take on projects and research opportunities to find new technologies to implement as they move along in their co-oping terms. You will learn how to work with Windows, OSX, and Linux in a enterprise environment. You will help maintain a Data center and learn how to monitor using applications like SCCM and SolarWind.  You will be expected to research and find alternative ways to fix issues related to IT tasks. Other duties may arise as required.

Preferred Experience: Co-ops are intended for students to learn through real world job experiences and therefore we do not require you to have extensive experience. We believe after 3 terms co-oping you will be in a much better place for landing a job post-graduation. We do require the following though:

– Basic trouble shooting skills

– Ability to follow instructions with implicit details

– Great communication skills

– Ability to Interact with employees and customers in a professional manner

– Can keep a consistent work schedule and be extremely punctual.

The Advanced Concepts Laboratory focuses research in Electromagnetic Materials, Secure Information Systems, Quantum Information Systems, and Optical and Infrared Physics.
