As a doctoral candidate (ABD) in the Business Administration program with a concentration in Business Intelligence & Analytics at Capella University, Carolyn French is conducting her dissertation research on the phenomenon of the Oil and Gas Big Data movement. The focus of her research is on how the industry is embracing the advanced technology given the shortages of skilled professionals. Her previous degrees are a Bachelor of Science in Geographic Information Systems (2012) and Master in Business Intelligence from American Sentinel University (2014).

As a visiting lecturer, she brings over 15 years of professional experience with specialties in data management in Integrated Enterprise Data Warehouse infrastructure (IEDW), the deployment of Business Intelligence solutions, expertise in data quality services, and a vast array of knowledge with geospatial and location-aware systems. She works as an online SME course developer and SME Advisor curriculum development (UND/GRAD) for Rasmussen College in Data Analytics/Data Science programs. She served as an adjunct at Southern New Hampshire University in the Data Analytics program for a year.

Carolyn French is a Texas native who has served 20 years (combined) in United States Naval Service as a Yeoman Second Class and the Army Reserves as a Sergeant in the Technical Engineering Specialist field.

On a charitable note, she serves as a national level USA Track and Field Official and (volunteers) certified coach with a specialization in Combined Events for all age groups. She worked for 10 years with high school track and field athletes as the Head Multi-Event Coordinator and Coach with Team Texas. She is transferring to Team Georgia to recruit and coach elite area high school athletes to compete annually at the Great Southwest Classic Elite H.S. Track Meet in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
