Dr. Mitra of Mechanical Engineering Receives National Recognition
Dr. Aniruddha Mitra (“Mitra”), an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering, was recently recognized by NCEES (the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying) for five years of outstanding service. Dr. Mitra has been a registered profession engineer (PE) in the state of Georgia since 2008. NCEES (the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing professional licensure for engineers and surveyors. It develops, administers, and scores the examinations used for engineering and surveying licensure in the United States including Professional Engineering (PE) and Fundamental of Engineering (FE) exams. Dr. Mitra has been serving as a member of NCEES’s national level committee for Examination development in the Mechanical Engineering Discipline. As a committee member he has worked on developing exam questions in PE, creating a unified reference manual for the exam and towards the computerization of the exam. In a recent national level meeting, held in March 28th and 29th,2014, Seneca, South Carolina, he was recognized for his five year contribution to NCEES.
